We want people to be able to do their work safely and under fair and lawful conditions. Social responsibility in construction relates to everyday life at construction sites, supply chains and the way we work together with partners and other stakeholders. In our work, we address human rights, fair working conditions and responsible operations.

We identify and address human rights impacts, risks and actions as part of YIT’s human rights due diligence (HRDD) process.

Occupational safety and well-being

A safe working day is based on anticipation, shared practices and continuous learning at construction sites. We also consider the safety of our partners’ employees at shared sites.

Sustainable sourcing

Responsible construction means that we seek to understand the impacts of our sourcing practices on people and the environment.

Responsible subcontracting

We work with partners and authorities to identify, prevent and address risks related to labour exploitation and the grey economy in subcontracting chains.
